Styrian Way of Mariazell

This way is part of the system of the pilgrimage ways 06. It starts in the southwest of Styria in Soboth or Eibiswald. The first stages are passing through the gentle hills of the Schilcher wine-growing region. Close to Styria's capital Graz the Schöckl mountain is one of the best panoramic viewpoints. Graz is welcoming the pilgrims with it's picturesque sights, the Dome and Basilica of Maria Trost. From Fischbach two different ways are leading to Mariazell: one through the romantic forests of "Waldheimat" and the other one via Mitterdorf and Veitsch with the 40 meter high Pilgrim's cross. An alpine path is leading across the Hohe Veitsch and Niederalpl. After a ten-days pilgrimage the final destination Mariazell is reached.
